This is one of the Redington family race dogs waiting for the veterinarian to give the OK to run the race.

This year, there will be three Redington family members in the race. Raymie Redington, the son of the late Joe Redington Sr., and two of Raymie's sons will be attempting the trip from Anchorage to Nome. The late Joe Redington Sr. was the founder of the Iditarod. His son, Raymie and Raymie's family keep the tradition. When we were at their place, near Knik, they were training the 14 year girl to be a musher. The 2001 Iditarod starts March 3rd.
